Joe the Plumber Not Registered to Vote? Hmmm…
Politico reports that Joe “The Plumber” Wurzelbacher of last night’s Presidential debate fame is not registered to vote.
October 6th was the voter registration deadline in Joe’s home state.
While Joe’s concerns about tax policy remain valid, his failure to do the simple act of registering to vote so he can actually have some influence on his economic future undercuts Sen. John McCain’s use of him last night in the debate.
Also, the “Joe the Plumber” moniker also seems a stretch. If after all his expenses he personally clears $250,000, he’s a far cry from the guys at Frisbee Plumbing and Heating who come to my house to unclog my toilet.
Before Joe went to the bank, he should have stopped by his county auditor’s office and taken five minutes to register to vote. He would have saved himself and John McCain–and us–all a lot of bother.

I reported the same thing, citing Ben’s blog on Politico, and we were incorrect. His name is Samuel J Wurzelbacher, and he’s a registered Republican. He’s also a tax cheat:
LUCAS COUNTY COURT OF COMMON PLEAS
J. BERNIE QUILTER, CLERK
700 ADAMS STREET
TOLEDO, OHIO
MONETARY AMOUNT: $1,182.98
DEPT OF TAXATION STATE OF OHIO
Defendant 1:
WURZELBACHER SAMUEL J
30 DERBYSHIRE RD
TOLEDO, OH 43615
That’s why we couldn’t his voter reg., we were using his middle name. In addition, the McCain campaign admits to trying to contact ol’ Joe during the debate to prep him for his interviews in the coming days.
Question: How would they know how to contact ol’ Joe if they hadn’t already?
